Later, she managed the Business Excellence team at Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited, which comprises brands such as Peter England and Allen Solly, among others.
Surbhi Bhatia is also an Indian mother and faced a lot of difficulty to find the right maternity outfits during her pregnancy. After childbirth she also wasn’t satisfied with the baby products too.In 2018, during her initial phase of pregnancy, she researched about the maternity market and understood the needs of millennial mothers. In India, there were limited brands and the maternity market was non- existent.
After testing the waters, she finally took a plunge and launched The Mom Store. The journey wasn’t an icing on the cake. We started with 3 lakh initial capital and three products. Everything was started from scratch, with no prior experience in setting up the tech supply chain. The pandemic attracted a huge online demand but supply side issues because of the initial lockdown. Operating staff, limited resources, frequent sanitisation, and vaccinations were a challenge.
The Mom Store has reinvented maternity clothes in India, with a twist to this market and providing pregnant mothers with a variety of alternatives. The maternity line oozes elegance while keeping all the features in mind, such as side-zippers, button downs, and soft, airy materials, to make breastfeeding easy even in public.
The Mom Store has established a household brand among expecting and new moms who rely on it for excellent quality, customer care, and on-time delivery.
